My name is Elizabeth Armbrecht and I am a junior professional writing major at Missouri State University. I hope to graduate in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Writing. I have applied to the Missouri State Graduate School with the goal of taking the accelerated master’s track to have my Master’s in Professional Writing by May of 2017. Along with my major, I have minors in Spanish and astronomy.
I currently work as a technical writer for Meek's Lumber in the college relations assistant position. My duties involve writing for, editing, and publishing a monthly newsletter, keeping employment lists up-to-date, and updating the student services manual. I also work as a consultant for the Missouri State University Writing Center. I read student writing (essays, cover letters, projects) and help the student improve his or her writing skills. I also occasionally help brainstorm or outline before the student even begins writing. Other extra-curricular activities include copy editing for The Standard, writing for the Residence Hall Association newsletter, the RHA Review, and reviewing submissions for the Missouri State University undergraduate research journal, LOGOS.
