Houston had the Love Street Light Circus. And Austin has the Vulcan Gas Company. For a short while, Dallas enjoyed a psychedelic nightclub known as The End of Cole. The Velvet Underground performed at the End of
Cole before heading down to Austin to perform
at the Vulcan Gas Company in 1969.
It should come as little surprise that local
blues legend, Freddie King, also performed at the End of Cole
This handbill promotes a variety of shows at
the club. It is a piece of classic artwork by noted Austin poster artist,
Jim Franklin. The handbill also promotes the Vulcan Gas Company.

The artist had a little trouble with this handbill. Note the spelling of Shiva's
Head Band!
Another odd-size handbill (not much larger than a ticket). But the artist
corrected
the spelling on this one!
