The Hofheinz Pavillion was constructed in 1969 and 1970 as a venue primarily intended for sports events at the University of Houston. In fact, it continues in this role today. However, like the Sam Houston Coliseum and the Houston Music Hall, the Hofheinz Pavilion also played host to some of the world's most famous rock and roll bands. Local acts tended to perform only as back up bands or performed at smaller local venues like the Catacombs or Houston's psychedelic nightspot, Love Street Light Circus and Feel Good Machine. Below please find some images of rock posters and handbills from this venue. If you have any posters or handbills for sale or trade, please contact me at dennishickey@missouristate.edu as no one else pays more for such material!
