Recent Lab News

  • August 2019: The Mathis lab welcomes two new MS students Caleb O'Neal and Sarah White to the family!
  • July 2019: Dr. Mathis was awarded the prestigious Animal Behavior Society's Penny Bernstein Distinguished Teaching Award! Congratulations!!
  • June 2019: Recent graduate Stephanie Morrison was awarded best student presentation at the 9th Semiannual Hellbender Symposium at Blacksburg, VA!
  • April 2019: Undergraduate Sarah White placed first at the Student Government Association Undergraduate Research Fair!

  • August 2018: Mathis lab presented several talks at the Animal Behavior Society meeting in Milwaukee, WI. Grads Katy Gardner and Stephanie Morrison presented their data, and Ben and Alicia gave talks in proxy for Colton Lynn and Shannon Johnson whom could not attend themselves. Good job all!
  • May 2018: Katy Gardner and Amber Clover received awards for Outstanding Oral Presentations at the MSU Interdisciplinary Forum!
  • November 2017: Colton was awarded with both the Distinguished Biology TA Award, and also the University TA Award. Check out his interview video. Congratulations Colton!
  • September 2017: Shannon Johnson and Colton Lynn presented portions of their thesis research at the 30th annual Missouri Herpetological Association meeting.
