Drs. Mickus, Rovey and Gutierrez led 18 students to New Mexico for the annual GLG 360 fieldtrip. We made a grand tour of the state encountering volcanic features (e.g., cinder cones, lava tubes, stratavolcanoes, tuff deposits, calderas), sedimentary features (e.g., dinosaurs tracks, alluvial and eolian deposits), metamorphic features (e.g., Precambrian mica schists) and a variety of ore deposits (copper and uranium). These features were observed at several National Monuments including Capulin Volcano, Bandelier, El Morro, El Malpais and White Sands.
