Problem #132


A certain island's populatioin consists of knights and knaves. Knights always tell the truth and knaves always lie. Jane, a visitor, meets three inhabitants of the island: Alice, Bob, and Charlie. Jane asks Alice "How many of the three of you are knights?". She does not hear Alice's reply, but Bob and Charlie do. Jane then asks Bob what Alice said. Bob replies "Alice said that only one of us is a knight." Charlie then says "Bob is lying." Determine the knavehood or knighthood of Bob and Charlie. (Please explain your reasoning, don't just give an answer.)
