Selected Gang Program Evaluations: 1936-1997

In "Promising Programs for Youth Gang Violence Prevention and Intervention," James C. Howell (1998) published a chart showing the names of various gang programs, their nature, and indicated their level of success. You can access the chart here. It provides a wealth of useful information.

It should be remembered that, while a program may be successful in one community, it may fail in another and visa versa. Fortunately, Howell has provided potential contact information so that readers may contact program personnel and inquire more deeply into the nature of the program offered.
